"We do not have a threat to the US. We have a problem with YPG. But if the US goes to war with YPG against the US, we will fight them too," said Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım said on the operation against Afrin.

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım went to Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference, also had a special interview to the Tagesthemen program at the German television channel ARD.

Talking about the operation against Syria's Afrin in the interview, Yıldırım said: "We do not have a threat to the United States. We say this: Turkiye, USA, Germany are NATO members. The US is fighting DAESH with another terrorist organization. We also call: Do not be in activities with the enemy of a NATO member that secure NATO borders. That also does not fit to a great state. Also does not fit into partnership. We have a problem with YPG. But if the US goes to war with YPG against us, we will fight them too."
