President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke during campaign rallies first in the province of Mersin and then in Hatay's district, İskenderun, in the run-up to the local elections scheduled for March 31, 2019.

President Erdoğan noted that they have invested TL35 billion in Mersin in education, healthcare, infrastructure, transportation, housing, restoration, sports, and social welfare.

"We will invest TL4 billion and build the Tarsus-Kazanlı Tourism Zone. Today, Mersin is a port and agricultural city. With this investment, we will also make it a touristic city."

Recalling that those, who martyred 52 Turkish citizens in the Reyhanlı district of Hatay, were caught in Syria and brought to Turkiye, President Erdoğan said: "Now they are answering for every single drop of blood they shed before our courts. Similarly, those, who planned the Gezi incidents, financed it, tried to overthrow the government by using 12 trees as a guise, are also answering for their action before the law.  Today, no one gets away with their crimes in Turkiye."

"Those, who want to conduct operations against Turkiye, now know that they are not above the law no matter who backs them. It is not only the murderers in Reyhanlı we have caught. We are also catching the FETO’s traitors and bringing them to justice," President Erdoğan said.

"We will foil all schemes against Turkiye, from Syria to Iraq, both at the table and on the ground. Just like we brought to their knees those who had been equipped with thousands-of-truckload of weapons in Afrin, we will show them their place along our southern borders, starting with Manbij," President Erdoğan said, underscoring that Turkiye will never allow a terror corridor in northern Syria.
