Speaking on tensions between the United States and his country, Zarif said Iran was not behind the attacks on Saudi Aramco, the Saudi regime's oil plant, and that this conclusion would be reached if the UN conduct an independent investigation.

Accusing the U.S. President Donald Trump "telling lies that will lead to war," Zarif added.

"We're ready to talk, but we need to negotiate a permanent deal. We've talked before, remember, we didn't just sign two pages of a document, so let's do it again, it was tough negotiations," he said.
