Under the auspices of the United Nations, a ceasefire has been put into effect in the context of negotiations for Hodeidah, the port city of Yemen where the biggest clashes have occurred in the recent civil war since 2015.

The ceasefire, which came into force in Hodeidah as of 00.00 local times, will be observed by a committee under the auspices of the UN and attended by representatives of the parties.

"As the Ansar Allah movement, we will be bound by the ceasefire agreement reached in Stockholm," said Muhammad Abdul Selam, the head of the delegation representing the Ansar Allah movement during the Yemen talks in Sweden.

According to the agreement, which envisages the UN to assume its leading role in Hodeidah port, it is also aimed at opening the way for humanitarian aid to Yemen and thus improving the living conditions of millions of Yemeni.
