According to eyewitnesses, police officers opened fire at a woman near the Silsila Gate of the Aqsa Mosque and fatally wounded her.

The woman was identified as 30-year-old Israa Khuzaimiya from the West Bank town of Qabatiya in Jenin.

Soon later, the police closed all the Aqsa Mosque’s gates and the entrances leading to it and intensified their presence in the Old City streets.

The police also reopened the Mosque’s Huta Gate after closing it, forced the Muslim worshipers inside to leave, and allowed Jewish settlers to enter the holy site in groups.

For long years, the zionist occupation military and security forces have been given the green light to use deadly force solely against the Palestinians who are accused or suspected of attacking or intending to attack Jewish settlers or soldiers, even when they do not pose an immediate threat or try to defend themselves.
