Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh targeted in deadly blast in Kabul

At least 10 people have been killed and 15 others wounded when a roadside bomb attack targeted Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh in the Afghan capital Kabul on Wednesday.

Afghan Vice President Amrullah Saleh, a former Afghan intelligence services head, escaped with slight burns on his face and hand, his spokesman said.

Meanwhile, Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a tweet that Taliban members were not involved in the attack.

“Blast in #Kabul has no relation with the Mujahidin of Islamic Emirate,” he said.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack yet.

Since 2001 when the United States invaded Afghanistan, over 100,000 people have been killed in the war, including more than 4,000 ISAF soldiers and civilian contractors, more than 62,000 Afghan national security forces, 31,000 civilians and even more Taliban members.
