Coronavirus: Iran reports 13,260 new cases, 479 deaths in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 479 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 43,896, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 13,260 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 828,377 in the country.
There are at least 5,756 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 589,025 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, more than 5,626,631 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 1,369,049 with 57,435,927 cases and more than 39,886,608 recoveries.
