Coronavirus worldwide: The number of deaths surpasses 279,000
More than 4,100,000 coronavirus cases have so far been reported around the world.
The coronavirus outbreak, which was first identified in Wuhan, China and declared a pandemic by World Health Organization on March 11, is continuing to claim the lives of thousands of people across the world.
The United States, the current epicenter of the pandemic, has the highest number of confirmed cases of coronavirus with 1,347,318 cases, followed by Spain with 262,783 cases, Italy with 218,268 cases, the United Kingdom with 215,260 cases, Russia with 198,676 cases, France with 176,658 cases, Germany with 171,324 cases, Brazil with 156,061 cases, Turkey with 137,115 cases, Iran with 106,220 cases and China with 82,901 cases.
A total of 1,443,480 patients have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital worldwide.
