Death toll from coronavirus rises to 116,847 in the United States

784 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 116,847, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by Brazil with 41,901 deaths, the United Kingdom with 41,481 deaths and Italy with 34,223 deaths.

2,121,381 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 27,221 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Until now, at least 842,068 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.

At least 23,850,809 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.

New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 402,914 confirmed cases, with at least 30,824 deaths.

According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 429,014 people across the world.
