Death toll from coronavirus rises to 24,147 in Spain
Spain has reported 325 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the country’s death toll to 24,147.
The number of confirmed cases has been 232,128, an increase of 1,244 cases in the past 24 hours, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
While 7,764 patients are being treated in intensive care units, about 108,947 patients suffering from coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Spain has the second-highest coronavirus cases after the U.S. and the third-highest number of deaths after the U.S. and Italy.
The actual number of cases, however, is likely to be much higher, as many people with only mild or no symptoms are unlikely to have been tested. The number of deceased is also believed to be an underestimate due to lack of testing and reporting in the country.
