Death toll from flash floods in northeastern Turkey rises to 8
Search and rescue work for 8 missing people is continuing in the region.
Ibrahim Güdük, who went missing in flash floods that hit the Dereli district of Turkey’s northeastern Giresun province on Sunday, has been found dead, the country’s Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said, bringing the death toll form the floods to 8.
Search and rescue work for 8 missing people, including two gendarme officers, is continuing in the region, Soylu added.
On Sunday, 3 people were killed, 11 others went missing in floods caused by heavy rains in Giresun province in the Black Sea region of Turkey.
