Iran reports 117 new deaths from coronavirus in the last 24 hours
Iran has reported 117 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 21,137, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Thursday.
After 2,190 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 367,796 in the country.
There are at least 3,822 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 316,638 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,138,782 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
Lari also urged people to continue the implementation of health guidelines in order to contain the spread of the pandemic in the country.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 830,352 with 24,363,709 cases and more than 16,895,982 recoveries.
