Iran reports 2,095 new coronavirus cases
2,095 new cases of coronavirus were reported over the past 24 hours, increasing the total number of infections in Iran to 175,927, the newly-appointed Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in a statement on Tuesday.
74 coronavirus patients lost their lives in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 8,425, she added.
There are 2,639 people in intensive care, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 138,457 have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, 1,128,601 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokesman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 409,247 with 7,224,364 cases and more than 3,559,417 recoveries.
