Iran’s death toll from coronavirus reaches 4,110
117 people have died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours in Iran, bringing the total number of the deaths to 4,110, said Iran's Health Ministry Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour on Thursday.
Iran has reported 634 new confirmed coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours. Therefore, the total number of confirmed cases has reached 66,220 in the country.
“32,309 patients suffering from the novel coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospitals so far,” Jahanpour said.
“3,198 patients are in critical condition,” he added.
Iran reported its first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections on 19 February 2020 in Qom.
As of 8 April 2020, Iran has the fifth-highest number of COVID-19 deaths after Italy, Spain, the United States and the United Kingdom, and the seventh-highest number of COVID-19 cases in the world.
The coronavirus pandemic, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, has until now infected 1,529,194 people, killing more than 89,415 worldwide.
