97 more people have died from coronavirus in Pakistan over the past 24 hours, taking the country’s death toll from the virus to 1935, according to the health ministry.

4,734 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

While 59,467 patients suffering from the disease are being treated in hospital, 32,581 people have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital.

The country's eastern Punjab province is the region most affected by the virus, with 35,308 cases and 649 deaths.

The government started easing coronavirus measures as of 9 May, in an effort to reduce the economic impact of the pandemic on working class and poor in the country.
