Sağlam: The normalization steps aims to legitimize the annexation of Palestine by Zionist

In his weekly statement on foreign agenda, HÜDA PAR Chairman İshak Sağlam has made assessments on UAE-Zionist regime deal, the tension in Eastern Mediterranean and the suspicious deaths of Muslims in Egypt's jail.

Reminding that so-called Abraham Accord, which was announced by the United States President Donald Trump, aims at a full normalization between United Arab Emirates and Zionist Occupation Regime, Sağlam said: "The agreement, allegedly signed in exchange for the suspension of annexation and occupation activities, which was accelerated by the Zionist regime in Palestine, aims to mislead the Muslim Public. Because the prime minister of zionist occupation regime stated that the annexation plan had not been canceled but delayed for a while upon request of US President Donald Trump. Zionist occupation regime, which has designs on establishing an illegal industrial zone in Jerusalem and has sped up to construct more illegal settlement in occupied Palestine in accordance with so-called Deal of the Century, will not stop by itself. Zionist regime attacks on Gaza following so-called Abraham Accord show that it will continue to kill Palestinians and to conduct inhumane acts. The steps of normalization of the Gulf States with the Zionist regime are aimed at legitimizing the occupation as well as economic and political sponsorship of the occupation activities. The Islamic countries, which have not taken any steps to solve the issues that exist among themselves, have been rushing into normalizing relations with the Zionist occupation regime, whose presence in the region is not legitimate. We condemn these initiatives that represent a betrayal of Palestine and the Quds cause. The only way to secure a permanent peace in the region is to act together against the annexation plan of the zionist occupation regime. Muslims should not remain silent in the face of the normalization steps, which are the parts of the so-called Deal of Century."

The tension in the Eastern Mediterranean

Pointing out that the tension between Greece and Turkey, which began with the Exclusive Economic Zone agreement between Turkey and Libya, has finally reached a dangerous point since August 6 when Greece and Egypt signed a maritime border deal, Sağlam continued his remarks as follows: "Greece and France have also strengthened their military presence in the region as Turkey continues its seismic research accompanied by warships in the region. Military activities in the region have increased the risk of an armed conflict. The basic solution in the region, where the national interests escalate the risk of an armed conflict, is through negotiation. In this sense, Turkey's call for negotiation and dialogue is important for fair sharing and use of resources. The resolution of the problems depends on the positive response of Greece to this call. The problems arising from the islands dispute, continental shelf and exclusive economic zone claims must be resolved permanently on the international arena."

The suspicious deaths of Muslim leaders in Egypt's jail

Drawing attention to the suspicious deaths of distinguished Muslim figures in Egypt's jail, Sağlam said: "Prof Dr Essam Al-Aryan, one of the prominent leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood and the head of the Freedom and Justice Party, died of a heart attack in prison where he was imprisoned for 7 years. We wish Allah's mercy for him and offer our condolences to his comrades and all Egyptian people. As is known, the General Guide of Muslim Brotherhood Muhammed Mahdi Akif also died in prison on September 22, 2017 while Egypt's first democratically elected President Muhammed Morsi died on June 17, 2019 in a courtroom. Following the Coup D'état in 2013, 60,000 people, including the leaders of Muslim Brotherhood, politicians, journalists, academicians as well as Islamic scholars, have been arrested in Egypt. Although the putschist Sisi government has built 19 new prisons in Egypt, there are prisons, which are reported to exceed their capacity by over 300% in the country. The distinguished Muslim Brotherhood leaders along with other dissenters are being imprisoned in Scorpion Prison, which is notorious for its torture, in a way that deprives them of all human rights. The ban on visitors, the lack of consultation with their lawyers, the lack of healthy foods, the lack of treatment of patients, and the lack of necessary isolation and treatment during the coronavirus pandemic are common practices in Egyptian jails. Even those who have a heart attack are left for dead instead of being taken to hospital. We call upon all international organizations, especially the United Nations Commission on Human Rights, to take action to prevent these inhumane practices in Egypt, to conduct a fair and impartial trial and to improve prison conditions.
