Spain coronavirus: Daily death toll drops to 288
According to Spanish Health Ministry, the number of daily coronavirus-related fatalities in the country has dropped to its lowest level in more than a month, with 288 deaths in the previous 24 hours.
Spain has reported 288 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the county’s death toll to 23,190.
The number of confirmed cases has been 207,634, an increase of 1,729 cases in the past 24 hours.
About 100,000 patients suffering from coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Spain has the second-highest coronavirus cases after the U.S. and the third-highest number of deaths after the U.S. and Italy.
The actual number of cases, however, is likely to be much higher, as many people with only mild or no symptoms are unlikely to have been tested. The number of deceased is also believed to be an underestimate due to lack of testing and reporting in the country.
