The number of deaths from coronavirus rises to 22,157 in Spain
Spain has reported 440 new deaths from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, taking the county’s death toll to 22,157.
The number of confirmed cases has been 213,024, an increase of 4,635 cases in the past 24 hours.
More than 89,000 patients suffering from coronavirus have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
As a country with the second-highest coronavirus cases after the U.S., Spain has the third-highest number of deaths from coronavirus after the U.S. and Italy.
The actual number of cases, however, is likely to be much higher, as many people with only mild or no symptoms are unlikely to have been tested. The number of deceased is also believed to be an underestimate due to lack of testing and reporting in the country.
