Turkey: The overall export unit value index rises by 6.9% in February
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall export unit value index increased by 6.9% in February, the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement on Friday.
In the same month, compared to February 2020, while the index for fuels decreased by 1.6%, the index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 8.4%, 12.1%, and 6.7%, respectively.
The overall export volume index increased by 2.6%
The overall export volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year increased by 2.6% in February.
Compared with February 2020, while the index for food, beverages, and tobacco decreased by 1.2%, the index for crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 32.8%, 12.6%, and 1.9%, respectively.
The overall import unit value index increased by 10.3%
As compared with the corresponding month of the preceding year, the overall import unit value index increased by 10.3% in February. While the index for fuels decreased by 8.6%, the index for food, beverages, and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 12.6%, 30.6%, and 10.6%, respectively.
The overall import volume index decreased by 0.7%
In February, the overall import volume index compared to the corresponding month of the preceding year decreased by 0.7%.
While the index for food, beverages, and tobacco, and fuels decreased by 6.1% and 3.9%, respectively, the index for crude materials (except fuels) and manufactured goods (except food, beverages, and tobacco) increased by 1.4% and 5.3%, respectively.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index decreased by 5.5%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted export volume index which was 139.0 in January 2021, decreased by 5.5%, to 131.3 in February 2021. The calendar-adjusted export volume index which was 122.1 in February 2020, increased by 2.6%, to 125.4 in February 2021.
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index decreased by 1.0%
The calendar and seasonally adjusted import volume index which was 111.6 in January 2021, decreased by 1.0%, to 110.5 in February 2021. The calendar-adjusted import volume index which was 102.5 in February 2020, decreased by 0.7%, to 101.8 in February 2021.
[2015=100] Terms of trade was 95.1 in February 2021
Terms of trade is calculated by dividing the export unit value index by the import unit value index, then multiplying the result by 100. While terms of trade were 98.1 in February 2020, it decreased by 3 points to 95.1 in February 2021.
