United States’ death toll from coronavirus rises to 115,163

974 people have died from coronavirus in the past 24 hours, rising the United States’ death toll from the virus to 115,163, according to Johns Hopkins University.

The U.S. has the highest death toll from coronavirus in the world, followed by the United Kingdom with 41,128 deaths, Brazil with 39,797 deaths and Italy with 34,114 deaths.

2,070,961 people have until now tested positive for coronavirus in the country, an increase of 18,905 new cases in the past 24 hours.

Until now, about 808,494 patients suffering from the pandemic have recovered and been discharged from hospital in the country.

At least 22,625,758 tests have been carried out to detect coronavirus infections in the country.

New York, which is being hit the hardest by the novel coronavirus in the U.S, has so far reported more than 401,333 confirmed cases, with at least 30,680 deaths.

According to Worldometer, a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, coronavirus pandemic has so far claimed the lives of at least 419,986 people across the world.
