US warns China over coronavirus pandemic
“China should face consequences if it was knowingly responsible for the coronavirus pandemic,” said the U.S. President Donald Trump during his daily White House briefing on the pandemic.
“It could have been stopped in China before it started and it wasn’t, and the whole world is suffering because of it. If it was a mistake, a mistake is a mistake. But if they were knowingly responsible, yeah, I mean, then sure there should be consequences,” he stated.
The coronavirus pandemic, which was first identified in Wuhan, China, and was declared a pandemic by WHO on March 11, has until now infected 2,334,459 people, killing at least 160,835 across the world.
In the U.S., the number of people who tested positive for coronavirus has so far been 738,923. Of those, 39,015 people have died.
