WHO praises Iran's response to coronavirus outbreak

The core strength of the Iranian health sector is the primary health care, said Christoph Hamelmann, World Health Organization representative in Iran.

"It can be mobilized to timely interrupt COVID19 transmission chain. Iran has the resilience to manage the epidemic. WHO will continue to support the efforts at Tehran Disaster Management HQ," he tweeted.

Iran closed on Thursday all schools, universities and educational institutions until March 20 as the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 3,513 in the country.
